There are lots of urban myths about Private Equity providers and acquisitive corporate buyers. It is true to say that both have their own specific drivers so it is important to understand that and be aware of what is driving them. The things they look for are not dissimilar to those that an objective business owner would want to see.

We all want to see a robust business strategy with the right people in place to deliver it. We see the first part of our role as working with the home team to challenge both the strategy and the team. If those things aren’t right, there is no point rushing out to market. If work is needed, we can support the task of getting it done and, where necessary introduce additional resource to plug gaps.

Despite one of our partners being a qualified Insolvency Practitioner we won’t seek or take insolvency appointments. This in-house knowledge and experience does however mean that we understand the difficult world of a financially distressed business. Financial Modelling

As you would expect modelling and analysis are a key part of what we do and we have the skills in house to deliver this. We are not too shy to say that you will find Christopher Spinks, our modelling expert, one of the most technically competent in his field. Chris started his life working with clients on corporate finance transactions which means that he differs from most modelling technicians – unlike many of his peers he understands what the numbers are for and what they are telling you, not just how to calculate them!
